Why has this response to Paddy Manning’s book Inside the Greens been written?

Inside the Greens is an important work on the Greens history and its internal differences and policy challenges. It does, however, present a largely one-sided account and contains some significant errors which cannot be allowed to stand. Our aim is to correct the historical record.

We are deeply committed to the Greens work to respond to the climate emergency, and to build a society that ends economic and social injustices, and protects our precious environment. The Greens will only succeed in those endeavours if it is a party of principle with a high level of integrity. An accurate recording of its history is essential to that.
